About Us

Welcome to Middleton Heights Elementary School—Home of the Hawks!  

Our 2-story building was constructed in 1987 and is located in the heart of Middleton. It is a unique building design, constructed to capture the natural light and heat provided by the sun.  A separate, full-size gymnasium was added in 2003, and 3 portable buildings, housing 6 classrooms, have been added in recent years.

At Heights, we are committed to student achievement, guided by our district’s mission and vision statements, as well as our school’s mantra:  Every Child, Every Day!

To accomplish this, we have staff committed to engaging lesson design, with appropriate levels of academic rigor, to meet the needs of ALL students. We use a team-centered approach for instruction, focusing on critical thinking, collaborating, communicating, and problem-solving.  The use of data analysis is part of our on-going cycle of instructional improvement for both teachers and students.  Daily, we practice, and work to instill, a “Growth Mindset” for all our staff and students.

Through a safe and caring learning environment, equally important to the staff are fitness/health, the social development of each child, the attainment of a strong self-concept and basic human respect and tolerance for others.  Awards assemblies are held each month.  Positive behavior and performance is recognized through a variety of awards, centered on our school’s SOAR expectations.

Parents play an important role in the success of our programs and services.  Research and experience shows us that a parent’s/guardian’s involvement in a child’s education is directly related to his/her success in school.  Numerous volunteer opportunities are available, and we welcome you to become involved. Parents are part of planning teams, serve as volunteers within classrooms, work on PTO committees to bring numerous opportunities to our students, and work with staff as partners in education.
